Dr.Sharma graduated at S.M.S Medical College, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, and did his masters in Surgery from the same college in 1988. He then did his superspeciality training M.Ch in Urology at BHU Varanasi. He Visited Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, USA in 2002 for training in advanced laparoscopic urologic surgery.
In 2005, He visited Institut Mutuliste Montsouris, Paris for training in Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy, where this technique was developed. This is one of the most advanced form of laparoscopic urologic surgery
He is working as senior consultant urologist for about 20 years at Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi, which is the largest private hospital in North India with 650 beds.
He is an active member of urological society of India and major association of laparoscopic surgeons like AMASI and IAGES. He has presented his laparoscopic work in most of the conferences and is regularly invited as operative faculty at various conferences.
He has been performing laparoscopic operations for
about 10 years and has experience
of over 1000 laparoscopic operations. These include
removal of kidney for cancer or other diseases,
partial removal of kidney for tumor,
correction of UPJ obstruction,
reconstruction of ureteric obstruction and
radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer.
